THANK YOU DRYDEN and SURROUNDING AREA FOR VOTING FOR SECOND CHANCE PET NETWORK through the Pepsi Challenge! Winning because of YOUR votes has given many, many animals a SECOND CHANCE to live in a beautiful place while awaiting their special person and their FOREVER HOME!
We are a not for profit organization. We rely on the generous donations from the citizens of Dryden and surrounding area. Donations are gratefully accepted, with charitable receipts provided for all cash donations of $20 or more. Second Chance Pet Network is a registered charity, #85116 7858 RR0001.
To help bring in funds to in order to cover as much as possible of the cost of shelter, food, litter and veterinary care, we run a storefront called “Second Chance Treasures” at 26 King Street. Second Chance Treasures accepts donations of gently used items (No clothing please!). These donated items are available for purchase for a monetary donation – we only ask that the donation amount be reasonable in relation to the value of the items received.
Second Chance Pet Network, also manages feral cat colonies at Dryden’s Highway 502 and Barclay Landfill sites, as well as at the landfill site in Sioux Lookout. This management of feral cats is accomplished through a T-N-R program (trap-neuter-return).
We accept donations of cat/dog food, Canadian Tire money or Extra Foods superbucks for the Food for Pets program for Dryden’s Food Bank.
A Kidz Klub is also available for children to participate.
Recently, a low cost spay/neuter program was put into place. These essential programs can only continue with community help.
New members and volunteers of all ages are welcome to become a “Friend of Second Chance Pet Network”. There are many, many tasks required to be done in order to help the animals in our area. Please consider giving some of your time to helping with the many, many jobs currently being done by a very few. Donating a wee bit of your time is one way you can give.
We are currently in need of foster homes for dogs as well, so we can start giving them a second chance.
Please download and fill out our SCPN Friends Application & Waiver (pdf).
The new Second Chance Pet Network Wilson Road Shelter, a permanent animal care designed building to service Dryden, Sioux Lookout and the surrounding area is up now, although there is still much work left to complete it to the finished stage. We still welcome all donations to our Build-a-Shelter campaign. A $25 donation will purchase one brick in your name, in honour of someone else, in memory of a loved one, or just because. Watch the thermometer on the right rise, and come in to check out the Campaign board at the Shelter.
You now can use Pay Pal or CanadaHelps to donate!
