Volunteering
Interested in volunteering?
If you're looking for a way to give back, come a volunteer at the SCPN shelter! You'll be doing something to be proud of and you'll have fun! There is always work to be done and the more caring and generous volunteers we have, the better.
We have lots of opportunities for volunteering, for both students and adults. We are always in need of more volunteers to help clean, feed and play with the cats in our care. Just a few hours from a few more volunteers will make a BIG difference in the lives of the current volunteers (too few of them!) and the residents (who can’t use more individual interaction and love?
Jobs include but are not limited to, sweeping floors, washing feed dishes, feeding and watering the cats, sometimes giving cats eye drops, laundry, washing floors, vacuuming, interacting with cats, and much more!
We are currently looking for people that would like to come to the shelter any time between 4:00 and 6:00 just to play with, pet or brush the cats. We feel they are spending too much time on their own and could use the company! We have volunteers that cover this shift six days a week, but it is always nice to have a waiting list! No need to stay the full 2 hours if that does not work for you!
We also need volunteers in many other capacities such as fundraising, volunteering at our store front - Second Chance Treasures (at 32 Princess St. in Dryden).
